STA 2112F, Fall 2000: Homework #3
Due by Tuesday December 19, 4:00 p.m., in Sid Smith 6024.
Questions from Chapter 3 (pages 162-171) of Mathematical Statistics
by Keith Knight:
3.1, 3.7, 3.8, 3.10
Questions from Chapter 4 (pages 225-236) of Mathematical Statistics
by Keith Knight:
4.1, 4.7, 4.16, 4.17, 4.20
Notes:
-
In question 3.10(a), the stated answer is missing a factor of
g''(theta).
-
In question 4.1, the stated answer is missing an "Exp".
-
For question 4.20, you may use the result of Example 3.6 on page 128
of the text. Also, you do not need to solve explicitly for the
range of theta values.
Remark:
There are only nine questions, and I have tried to select questions
which aren't too difficult. Also, you have an extra week to work on
them. So, overall, I hope this homework won't be as long or as difficult
as the last one!
Reminder:
There will be a quiz in class at 11:10 a.m. on Thursday December 7.
I will try to make it less difficult than the last one!
