STA 257F Tutorial Bonus Points
The course
STA257
will have a tutorial each week.
Students who participate especially well in tutorials
may be able to earn up to three bonus points,
at the discretion of the TA.
Tutorial participation includes such elements as:
- Attending tutorials regularly, and arriving on time.
- Coming prepared, having already reviewed the previous class
notes and attempted the suggested homework problems.
- Paying good attention during tutorial, and showing sincere interest.
- Asking good questions during tutorial.
- Volunteering to answer the TA's questions and present homework solutions during tutorial.
- Perhaps staying after tutorial to ask more questions,
or emailing or meeting the TA at others times too.
- Generally demonstrating that you are working hard to
participate and learn the course material.
TAs will keep track of the best participation in their tutorials.
At the end of the semester,
they will assign up to three bonus points
(i.e., three extra percentage points in the final course grade),
at their discretion,
to the students who have participated the best in their tutorial.
You can only earn tutorial participation points in the
tutorial in which you are registered, not another one.
There is no guarantee of any tutorial bonus points;
they will only
be given to a small number of
especially active participants in the tutorial.
