• The "boarder" has the same last name as Anna's maiden name -- this must be Anna's mother. She has been in the U.S. the same number of years as Anna, and is from Romania, and her occupation is listed as housework. Probably "boarder" was a misunderstanding by the census taker. Further evidence is that in the 1925 census she is listed as "Sarah Black", mother-in-law of Samuel (in that case presumably the surname "Black" was an error).
• Their address is 246 Houston St. East. See 246 East Houston today in Google Maps.
• Their occupations are given as: Sam: Operator neckwear; Anna: Housework; Joseph: no occupation.
• Under citizen or alien, Sam and Anna are listed as "al" and Joseph as "cit".
