• This 1915 census form shows two related households: (1) Benjamin Schwartz and Julia (Weiss) Schwartz with six children: Helen, Mabel, Arthur, Daniel, Ethel, and Ruth; (2) Morris Holzman and Regina (Weiss) Holzman with five children: Julius, David, Beatrice, Leonard, and Helen; also living with Morris and Regina are Esther (Weiss) Schwartz and Esther's one-year-old son Irving.
• Julia (age 38) and Regina (age 36) were sisters, and Esther was their considerably younger half-sister (age 24).

• Here are my notes about this document:
  • These two households are among eight households (56 people total) that this census form lists as living at 1472 Brook Ave. See this address today in Google Maps.
  • Although I wrote in the heading above that the two households are "next door" to each other, actually the location of the eight households within the building is not specified; however, these two households were listed one after the other.
  • The family tree created by Gladys (Schwartz) Kaminsky in 1980 explains that Esther Weiss married Fred Schwartz (no relation), was divorced, then married Al Polatchek, and that she had one child with each husband. Presumably at this point Esther was living with her sister Regina because she was separated.
  • The form indicates that Morris Holzman (Regina's husband) was born in Germany, has been in the U.S. for 15 years, and his occupation is "Smoking pipe maker". Regina's occupation is "Housework".
  • Both Regina and Morris are non-citizens ("Al" for "Alien").
  • Esther (Weiss) Schwartz's occupation is "Saleslady (Dept Store).
  • It must have been fun for all these cousins to live so close to each other.
