Here's a copy of the (modern) transcription copied from ancestry.ca
New York, New York, Marriage Indexes 1866-1937
Name: Leja Rosenthal
Gender: Female
Marriage Date: 5 Sep 1914
Marriage Place: Manhattan, New York, USA
Spouse: Henry Brock
Certificate Number: 22847
Here are my notes about this document:
Birthplace for both is given as Russia. [Poland was part of the Russian Empire.]
Number of Groom's Marriage and Number of Bride's Marriage are both recorded as "First".
Groom's residence and Bride's residence are both 2866 E. 3rd St., Coney Island.
Groom's father's name is "Feiwel"? This seems to be a variant spelling of the Yiddish name Feivel.
Groom's Mother's Maiden Name = Lea Rosenthal [This doesn't make sense -- maybe they misunderstood the question?]
Bride's father's name = Abraham
Bride's Mother's Maiden Name = Sarah Silverstein.
The maiden name given here for Leah's mother Sarah is "Silverstein." This is slightly different from the maiden name given for her in the entry for Solomon P. Ruggill (Leah's younger brother) in Who's Who in American Jewry, 1980 edition: "Silverberg". That entry says "Ruggill, Solomon P., psychologist, educator, b. N.Y.C. Sept. 29, 1906; s. Abraham Pesach and Sarah Revke (Silverberg) [...]"
The marriage took place at 173 Clinton St., Manhattan (on the Lower East Side). See this address today in Google Maps.
