SERIAL DINERS RESTAURANT AWARDS
This is a (browser-friendly) copy of a list of the annual restaurant
awards given out by the Serial Diners,
a group founded in 1989 and dedicated to dining at every restaurant
listed in the Toronto Yellow Pages, in alphabetical order, at the
rate of one per week. The group meets every Friday at the designated
restaurant at 6:00 p.m. All are welcome! For more information,

- The "Ace Restaurant" Award for the "best" restaurant from a Serial Diners
Standpoint, taking into account the Aims, Goals, and Objectives of the
Diners and the general trend among restaurant critics to put undue emphasis
on quality of food and not enough on other factors such as a really neat
jukebox and with the intention of deconstructing this general trend in the
restaurant review business
- The "Guantanamera" Award for Best Music
- The Ralph Angell "Where's My Goat?" Award for the most
"magic moment" at the Serial Diners
- Best Server
- Most Earnest Server
- Worst Server
- The "Sherlock" Specht Award for Best Trace of Diners
- Best Dessert
- The "Angelini's" Award for the "worst" restaurant from a
Serial Diners Standpoint, taking into account the Aims, Goals, and
Pocketbooks of the
Diners and the general trend among restaurant critics to put undue emphasis
on distance from the downtown core and poor quality of food and not enough
on other factors such as getting ripped off and treated as being no better
than pond scum if you do not cave in to bourgeois standards of dress,
deportment, and decorum, and with the intention of deconstructing this
general trend in the restaurant review business
- The Erik "Possum" Stewart Memorial Award for the
Least Vegetarian-Friendly Restaurant
- Most Disgusting Refusal to Honor Discount Card Obligations
- "The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie" Award (for the most surreal,
Bunuelesque experience at the Diners)
- Loudest Restaurant
- Best Library or Collection
- The "Gallileo-Bumpkins" Award for the Most Egregious Attempt
to Separate the Diners From Their Money Through Any Means Possible,
Including (But Not Limited To) Hidden Charges, "Bread Taxes",
and Unfair Mandatory Gratuities
- The Auberge Gavroche Award for Best Presentation of Food
