HOW TO RESEARCH YOUR DENTISTRY ESSAY
1. Getting a head start

If you're doing research at the last minute, you may find that some of the journals and books you need are out on loan. If you start your research early, there will be time for you to obtain these materials by placing a hold on them.

TIP:
In the Library Catalogue, if an item is out on loan, you will see "Checked out" and the due date. You can click "Request item" to ask that a hold be placed, or you can come to the Dental Library desk to place a hold in person.

Checked Out

Also, the sooner you start your research, the sooner you can start writing, which means you'll have time to improve on your first draft, and you'll be able to get help with writing your essay from the Health Sciences Writing Centre. (You can meet with a writing expert from the Centre about planning, researching, organizing, writing, and editing your particular assignment.)
